The Healthcare Reference Book – America’s Leading Healthcare Providers and Suppliers directory is divided into two major sections:
- The Healthcare Suppliers section of the directory contains companies that make up the manufacturing and supply side of the healthcare industry. In this section companies are listed alphabetically, with cross reference sections available in geographical order and by SIC code.
- The Healthcare Providers section of the directory contains more than 10,000 premier healthcare providers appearing in alphabetical listings within eight individual specialties. A geographical cross reference section is also included for healthcare providers.
Healthcare suppliers and providers are listed together in a main alphabetical cross reference in the front of the directory.
The Healthcare Suppliers section is built from D&B’s marketing file. Companies are pulled if they meet certain criteria. These conditions are:
- Must have a qualifying 8 digit SIC with a healthcare
- Related line of business
- Must be a headquarters or single location
Once this universe was established, companies were ranked in descending order by their total employees figure. The top companies were then selected for inclusion in the directory.
Information for the Healthcare Providers section is obtained from a file provided by the federal government.
